Samreen Munim will talk about Birds Canada's Ontario Forest Birds Program and four of its target species: Acadian Flycatcher, Cerulean Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush, and Prothonotary Warbler. She'll go over why these species are so special, provide fresh updates on their population status in Ontario, and outline some of the new challenges each species is facing today.

Samreen has been identifying birds and helping conduct research since 2016 and has worked on projects focused on dance fly mating strategies, urban plant ecology, and rocky outcrop sparrow communities. For the past 5 years, she has been part of the Ontario Forest Birds Program at Birds Canada, where she works with land managers across southwestern Ontario to survey for forest birds and support conservation efforts for five at-risk forest bird species.
