Privacy Policy

At Nature London, we take your privacy seriously. Our privacy policy is defined by the following:

• We do not ask for personal information unless we need it.
• We do not share personal information with any other organization except to comply with the law or protect our rights.
• We do not store personal information unless required for the ongoing operation of one of our services.

Gathering and Correcting Information

There are many situations where we require identifying information. The information that we require depends on the nature of the interaction. Here is why we need to collect email addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers.

A visitor must provide an email address when:

• joining or renewing a membership – shared with the Membership Team
• updating one’s online profile
• updating one’s email subscription list
• registering for a meeting or field trip – shared with the event’s organizers
• purchasing a ticket for an event – shared with the event’s organizers

A visitor must provide a mailing address when requesting anything by mail. This information is shared with whoever applies addresses to mailing labels or envelopes.

A visitor must provide a phone number and emergency contact when registering for a field trip. This information is shared with the event’s organizers for taking attendance.

The website does not require full names or accurate phone numbers. When you provide this information, we can treat you with greater courtesy and communicate with you more effectively.

Removing Identifying Information

A contact or member may ask us (by email or letter) to delete their information from our records. This will be done promptly and to the extent possible. For example, it is not possible to destroy widely distributed information that was printed in The Cardinal or emailed in the E-Newsletter.

Protection of Information

Nature London discloses identifying information only to those of its volunteers (1) who need to know that information to process it on Nature London’s behalf or to provide service, and (2) who have agreed not to disclose it to others. Nature London will not rent or sell identifying information to anyone.

Other than to its volunteers, as described above, Nature London discloses identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when Nature London believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Nature London, third parties or the public at large.

Nature London takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of identifying information.

Web and Paper Form Equivalency

The Nature London Privacy Policy applies equally to identifying information regardless of how it is collected.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Nature London may change its Privacy Policy from time to time. Such a change will be announced in the E-Newsletter and The Cardinal. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
