Explore the habitats of Dalewood Conservation Area. We'll walk the trail that follows the edge of the reservoir, providing lovely views of the water and adjacent wetlands. This will be an out-and-back walk (not the entire 8 km loop).

We'll focus on identifying fall flowers, trees and shrubs. Also, we'll watch for migrating songbirds and waterfowl. The trail is narrow in sections and there are some exposed roots and short hills, so long pants and sturdy boots are advised. A walking stick may be handy. Bring binoculars to watch for birds.

Meet at the main parking lot (trailhead) of Dalewood Reservoir on Dalewood Rd, south of Ron McNeil Line and just south of the big white bridge over Kettle Creek. Latitude: 42.79765, Longitude: -81.17979. Do not park at the campground access north of the bridge. We will start by crossing the bridge (it has a wide, protected sidewalk) to the trail on the other side.

If the weather is poor, we will reschedule the hike to October 2nd.
